Wedding Cake: The Yummylicious Scrumptious Cake!

It looks scrumptious right? Emm.. Yummy!
I did tell y'all that I was ordering a cake for my cousin's wedding, right? I really wanted the cake to be special, y'know, something to remind her of her special day.

Bride's mom enjoying her slice =)

So I ordered a two-tiered cake from Taka. I initially wanted a two-tiered cake that did not have pillars. Pillars and wedding cakes are so cliche so I wanted a two-tiered cake that is able to sit atop of each other and look nice and coordinated. However, as we had to carry the cake from the bakery to the bride's home (where the wedding reception is supposed to be) and clumsy folks that we are, we decided to adhere to Taka's advice and get a normal two-tiered cake.
What I love about this cake is the red detailing on the bottom layer of the cake. I do love the way the red swirls stands out from the white background. It's only covered in cream, mind you. Wanted to go for fondant cakes but as Kak Anor from MyCupcakes is on maternity leave, I'll have to resort to cream covered wedding cakes from Taka.
Initially Taka provided me with the wedding dolls (the plastic kind that they normally put atop of the cake) but I think I like this version better. Its eatable too!

Selamat Pengantin Baru to my cousin, Zaty Yusrina and her beloved, Zack. =)

The cake is a simple chocolate sponge cake covered and layered with cream and it was absolutely delish. By the way, the cake was gone in like 15 seconds!

Have I indeed?

Well...

Did I let the cat out of the bag?

Well, if you must know. It is not for me *sigh*.

At least, not yet *crossing fingers*.

My cuzzie is gettin' married and I plan to give her a wedding cake. Isn't it a delight?

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

The current craze is all for cupcakes. Yours truly have such a sweet tooth. There isn't one day where I'm not craving something sweet and delish! And now apparently I have all the more reason to carry on with my sweet obsession cause my friend is opening up an online cupcake store!

I don't know about elsewhere, but cupcakes are all the rage here in Malaysia. Why are cupcakes better than cakes you might wonder? For one, it's bite sized. Which means that you don't need to finish all of them in one go. You can munch on one cupcake and leave the rest for later. It's just like having a handy dessert. It's always there for you to just grab one and go.

Another reason, it's cheap. Cupcakes are generally between the range of RM1.50 - RM4, depending on the intricate designs and of course the toppings and fillings that one might request to go with it. You can personalize the cupcake with your name, a cartoon character or as my friend has proven, a stop sign *yikes*.

Interested? You can visit her blog at http://alisaccuppies.blogspot.com and preview what she have done, make your order (if you're interested) or request an intricate design of your own. The best part is, you can make the cupcake as unique as you are.

Kindly be reminded that she needs time to buy her baking materials and bake the cupcakes so do place your order in advance.

Let's head out to tea, ladies!
